Women inside the shelter Ammerland and Wesermarsch

Our mission is to support women and their children who are affected or threatened by violence or abuse. Abuse can take many different forms: physical, mental, psychological, sexual and economic. Abuse can also be harassment, stalking or forced marriage.

Special features of the Women's and Children's Shelter include flexibility and privacy. We offer completely separate living units of the house, which can be adapted to different numbers of children and offer families their own space. This makes it possible, after an individual assessment, to take in older boys from the age of 14 and up. After this assessment, advice and guidance is offered to older boys if they want / need it.

The Women's and Children's Shelter is equipped for the needs of women with babies. If needed, baby changing facilities and baby cots (cribs) are provided.

Our building and housing can also comfortably accommodate women, children and adolescents with disabilities.

Women with addiction problems can also be admitted after consultation, as long as there is a willingness to remain abstinent. Women can be admitted on the grounds that safety, peace, and freedom from violence is not jeopardised in the Women's and Children's Shelter.
